Are you a writer looking for help to prepare your manuscript for submission to publishers?
Or an indie author who wants to work with an editor to create a professional self-published book?
I’ve been working as a book editor since the mid-1990s, initially in legal and educational publishing, and then in general books. In 2004 I left my senior editor position at HarperCollins and set up my own freelance editing business. My clients include Australian publishing houses such as HarperCollins, Pan Macmillan, Random House, Allen & Unwin and Hachette Australia, as well as authors seeking editorial advice before submitting their manuscript to a literary agent or publisher.
I’m also the main editor at ebookedit, an Australian company that offers editing and file conversion services to authors who choose to self-publish.
To talk to me about your project, please email me at: nicola[at]nicolaoshea.com
If you’re interested in editorial training, please visit my Structural Editing for Editors page.
Please note: I’m fully booked for freelance editing and development work at the moment, except for Skype feedback sessions. I recommend looking for an experienced editor through the Freelance Editors’ Network, or IPED’s national directory of editors.
